Character Creation
-Attributes-
All 6 attributes (Strength, Constitution, Dexterity, Wisdom, Intelligence, Charisma) start at 0 for every character. At creation the player gets 3 points to spend on any attribute they want. If they want, they can even drop attributes lower than 0 for additional points.
Example: Ryan is creating his character. He spends one point on Strength, and two on Intelligence. Deciding that his character is a bit rough around the edges, he takes one point from Charisma and adds it to Dexterity. His character now looks like this:
Str: +1
Con: 0
Dex: +1
Wis: 0
Int: +2
Cha: -1
-Job-
Each character has their specific day job, which in game terms determines what skills they can buy at a discount. Job Skills cost only half a point for each level. The current jobs, and their associated skills are:
-Plumber: Mechanical Engineering, Use Tools, Bluff
-Office Worker: Computers, Bluff, (player choice)
-Nurse: Medicine, Psychology, Biology
-Priest: Dogma, Lore, Diplomacy
-Teacher: (Choose 2: History, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Literature), Psychology
Example: Ryan decides that his character is a rough orderly from the local hospital. So he writes “Nurse” under his occupation, and makes special note of which skills are tied to his class (Medicine, Psychology and Biology).
-Skills-
At creation all characters have a set number of skill points equal to 20(+/-5 for each point spent in Intelligence OR Wisdom, whichever is higher). The maximum skill bonus is 5 points, and sadly leftover points are lost. A full skill list will come later
Example: Ryan’s Intelligence is +2. So he has 30 skill points to spend (20+(5x2)). Since he chose intelligence to base his skills on, Ryan’s Orderly learned their skills from study, as opposed to intuition.
-Skill List-
These are the Skills available to players. Anyone can take points in any of these skills, but there are some differences between them. Firstly there is a difference between untrained skills (ones that you can use without any points in it) and trained skills (ones that you have to have points in to attempt, marked on this list with a *). The other main difference is what attribute is tied to each skill (it’s gonna be one of the 6 mentioned before).
